How to Borrow and Renew Items

You will need your Bradford Libraries’ library card and a PIN number.
If you don’t know your PIN, and if it is the orginal one we set up for you, you can work it out like this …
It is a four digit PIN number made from your date of birth. So if you were born on 1 March 1975 your PIN number will be 0175.
If this doesn’t work you may have to reset your PIN number (this will only work if you are signed up for email notifications), or contact the library at Burley Library for help.
To join, renew, reserve, check what I have on loan or make a stock suggestion you will be redirected to Bradford Libraries’ website and a new webpage tab will open. See the links below:

Refurbishment & Investment

Since taking over the Library in 2017, Burley in Wharfedale Parish Council has spent over £150,000 on the refurbishment of the library building.

Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust provided funding and a large personal legacy for the new Story-Wall and children’s shelving. Additionally, the library has received donations from Burley Educational Trust, Ilkley Round Table, Burley Summer Festival and Burley and District Chamber of Trade (BADCOT). Last, but by no means least, individuals and families from the village have donated their time, energy and considerable amounts of money towards the works. This joint effort has given the village a beautiful new space which all the community can enjoy for many years to come.

The refurbishment of the building was completed in 2019 and the refurbishment included a new roof, new windows, new front door, new carpet, decorating throughout, a new accessible toilet, new kitchen and radiators. Finally, an amazing children’s Story-Wall and shelving throughout displaying graphics by local artists and photographers, along with a hand-painted mural designed by Maddie Coelho. The library reopened to the public on 3 June 2019.

Since the full refurbishment, the Parish Council has made further investments and funded a new more economical boiler for the library’s gas central heating, new accessible sliding doors to the entrance, a canopy at the front of the building to provide shelter for customers entering and leaving the building and new computer equipment.
